The Rays beat their AL East rivals, the Boston Red Sox, to advance to the World Series for the first time in team history. Tampa won game 7 by a score of 3 – 1, and Matt Garza was named MVP of the ALCS.
I remember awhile back saying that the Rays name and color change from the Devil Rays would do absolutely nothing and that they would still be the laughing stock of baseball. Well I guess they proved me, and all other baseball fans, wrong!!
So the 2008 World Series will be Philadelphia v. Tampa Bay … I wonder who bet on that in Vegas during Spring Training?!?!?!?
Congrats Tampa and make the American League proud!
